Verizon Class Action Settlements Roll Out: Claimants to Receive Up to $2.37 Each

Verizon Wireless is in the process of distributing payouts stemming from a class action settlement that affects millions of customers. The settlements arise from claims that the company had charged customers for services they did not receive. The total payout amounts to over $70 million, with individual claimants set to receive $2.37 each after litigation expenses and attorney fees are deducted. The plaintiffs argued that Verizon’s practices were unfair, stating, “We believe that consumers deserve better protections from being charged for services they never received or agreed to.” Notices about the settlement have been sent out to approximately 30 million customers, and the payout process is ongoing, with officials expecting to clear claims by the end of the month. Some customers may qualify for additional compensation if they can prove their billing was incorrect. Verizon has confirmed its intent to review further documentation if additional claims are presented.
