Texas State University has proposed a comprehensive campus master plan that aims to enhance the aging infrastructure and address the longstanding parking issues on its San Marcos campus. University officials highlighted that the aging buildings are not only hindering growth but also affecting the overall student experience. Vincent Ruiz, a representative of the university, stated, “Our goal is to create an environment that supports both academic success and community engagement.” The proposal also includes details about a projected increase in student enrollment which will further drive the need for these improvements. The university anticipates a budget allocation of approximately $200 million over the next five years to execute the plan.
