Sacramento International Airport (SMF) has announced the addition of nonstop flights to Anchorage, Alaska, starting May 2024. This new route will be operated by Alaska Airlines, which aims to expand its hub in the Sacramento area. Alaska Airlines will begin offering the route with three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, making it easier for travelers to access the Alaskan wilderness. Angelo Nong, a spokesperson for the airline, stated, ‘We are excited to connect Sacramento with Anchorage, a gateway to incredible Alaskan adventures.’ The addition of this route complements the existing services provided by Alaska Airlines, including nonstop flights to Seattle and Portland. This move comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance connectivity and provide more travel options to airport customers. The Sacramento International Airport serves over 10 million passengers annually and continues to grow its portfolio of direct routes to various destinations, benefiting both business and leisure travelers.
