Heavy snowfall and gusty winds forecasted for this week have prompted officials to implement speed restrictions on multiple interstates. According to PennDOT’s announcement, between 1 to 4 inches of snow could accumulate in some areas, leading to hazardous travel conditions. PennDOT district executive, Mike F. Sweeney stated, ‘We urge drivers to use caution and adjust their travel plans as necessary.’ The restrictions will affect Interstates 70, 76, 80, and 95. Motorists should be aware that these measures are intended to ensure public safety and minimize travel disruptions. Additionally, snow squalls can create sudden whiteout conditions, making road visibility extremely low.
