Mount Union Advances to Stagg Bowl after Victory Over Johns Hopkins in NCAA DIII Semifinals

In a thrilling NCAA Division III semifinal matchup, the University of Mount Union emerged victorious against Johns Hopkins University with a score of 42-10. Tyler Echeverry shone in the game, throwing for over 300 yards and four touchdowns. Mount Union displayed a dominating performance in defense, limiting Hopkins to only 258 total yards. Hopkins quarterback, Ryan Stevens, faced significant pressure throughout the match, resulting in a frustrating outing. ‘We prepared all week for their defense, but we couldn’t execute our game plan,’ Stevens commented post-game. Mount Union commenced the first half strong, leading 21-0 by halftime, with touchdowns from Echeverry and running back Jake Mace. The Purple Raiders will face North Central College, who defeated Susquehanna University 66-0 in the other semifinal match, in the Stagg Bowl for a chance to claim the national championship.
