The LSU Women’s Basketball team has recently celebrated significant accolades as three players have been named to the All-SEC team for the 2022-2023 season, recognizing their outstanding performances throughout the year. Flaujae Johnson, Aneesah Morrow, and Alexis Morris were all honored, marking a prominent achievement for the Tigers in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Flaujae Johnson, a standout guard known for her impactful scoring ability, led the trio by being named to the All-SEC Second Team. She has consistently demonstrated her skills on the court, averaging approximately 14.2 points per game during the season. “Receiving this recognition is not only a personal triumph but a testament to the hard work of my teammates and coaching staff,” Johnson expressed, emphasizing the collective effort behind her success.
Aneesah Morrow, who played a pivotal role in anchoring the team’s offense, was also recognized for her excellent performance and was selected to the All-SEC First Team. Morrow averaged an impressive 18.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, showcasing her versatility and value to the Tigers’ offensive setup. “It’s an honor to be recognized among such talented players in the SEC. I couldn’t have achieved this without my family, teammates, and coaches who believed in me,” Morrow stated.
Alexis Morris, known for her leadership on and off the court, played a crucial role in guiding her team throughout the season. She was honored with a place on the All-SEC Second Team, averaging 16.2 points per game. Morris shared her thoughts on the award, saying, “Being acknowledged in this way motivates me to push even harder and set a standard for excellence, not just for myself but for the entire program.”
These accolades come as the LSU Women’s Basketball program continues to build on its success, with Coach Kim Mulkey leading the Tigers to a promising season.
