Kremlin Denies Reports on Bashar al-Assad’s Health Amid Speculation on Syrian President’s Condition

The Kremlin has dismissed reports circulating in Turkish media regarding the health of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his wife, Asma al-Assad. Turkish reporter Yetkin reported that the Assads were allegedly receiving treatment in Moscow, which the Kremlin describes as ‘not true’. The Kremlin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, stated, ‘We are talking about completely unsubstantiated information, absolutely any rumors regarding the representatives of the Syrian leadership.’ These remarks come amidst ongoing speculation about President Assad’s health, particularly following his recent appearances which have led to concerns regarding his physical condition. The reports suggest an alarming decline in health but lack concrete evidence, adding to the cloud of uncertainty surrounding political affairs in Syria.
