Julie Hellenbrand, aged 61, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023, at her home in Madison, Wisconsin. Julie is survived by her beloved husband, David Hellenbrand, her children, Sarah and Emily, and her treasured grandchildren, Mia and Noah. Julie was born on November 7, 1961, in Madison, where she grew up and later graduated from Madison Memorial High School. She went on to achieve her degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and dedicated over three decades of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. Her career began at St. Mary’s Hospital and later included a significant role at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.
Friends and family remember Julie as a passionate caretaker. Her daughter Emily reflected, “She was the heart of our family, always putting others before herself. Her laughter filled every room, and her kindness never went unnoticed.” An avid volunteer, Julie spent countless hours contributing to various community service projects, focusing especially on children’s health initiatives.
Julie’s love for the outdoors was evident; she enjoyed hiking, gardening, and spending time at her family cabin in the North Woods of Wisconsin. Julie also participated in numerous local charity events, highlighting her generous spirit.
In honor of Julie’s life, a memorial service will be held at the Madison Club on October 15, 2023. All are welcome to join her family in celebrating her legacy of love, compassion, and community service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
