Florida State University Names Luke Loucks as New Men’s Basketball Head Coach

Florida State University has officially announced the hiring of Luke Loucks as the new head coach for its men’s basketball team, signing him to a five-year deal. Loucks, a former standout player for the Seminoles and assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings, replaces Leonard Hamilton, who announced his retirement after 22 seasons at the helm. FSUs Athletic Director Michael Alford expressed excitement about the hire, calling Loucks a genuine choice that reflects the university’s commitment to maintaining a strong basketball program. ‘Luke embodies the spirit and values of Florida State University, and we are thrilled to welcome him back to lead our men’s basketball program,’ Alford stated. Loucks expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, saying, ‘This is a dream come true. I have a deep connection to FSU and I’m honored to lead my alma mater.’ Loucks has been praised for his coaching abilities and his commitment to developing players, and he aims to follow in the footsteps of Hamilton by building on the strong foundation laid during his tenure. His first task will be to recruit and develop a competitive team for the upcoming season.
