Fairfax County Teacher Arrested for Selling Vape Cartridges to Students

A 28-year-old teacher from Falls Church High School has been arrested for allegedly selling vape cartridges containing THC and nicotine to students. Kaitlyn Cresent, a former English teacher, was taken into custody by the Fairfax County Police Department after an investigation began following allegations reported on November 28, 2022. According to police reports, the disposals of vape cartridges were found in the school’s vicinity leading to concerns amongst parents and school officials. The investigation uncovered that Cresent potentially sold the cartridges over several months, targeting students. Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) stated that they acted swiftly and terminated her employment immediately upon the discovery of her actions. FCPS spokesperson, Tisha Johnson, emphasized, ‘The safety and well-being of our students are our top priority. We will not tolerate any misconduct by our staff.’ Cresent is currently facing multiple charges, including possession and distribution of a controlled substance. She has been released on bond but is expected to appear in court for further proceedings. This incident has sparked heightened discussions about the availability of vape products to minors and the ongoing concerns about substance use among students.
