East Carolina Women’s Basketball Faces Tough Loss Against Florida Atlantic

The East Carolina University women’s basketball team suffered their third consecutive loss, falling to Florida Atlantic University (FAU) with a score of 64-48 on January 4, 2025. After a promising first half, where the Pirates held a narrow 26-24 lead at halftime, they struggled to maintain their momentum in the second half. Head Coach Kim McNeill commented on the game’s challenges, stating, “We played well for stretches but need to find a way to play consistent basketball for 40 minutes.” The Pirates are now 6-7 for the season and aim to turn things around as they continue American Athletic Conference (AAC) play. FAU, on the other hand, improved to a record of 7-5 and held the Pirates to just 22 points in the final period. The game marked a disappointing start to conference play for East Carolina, who will be looking to bounce back in upcoming games.
