In a heartbreaking event that has shocked the Virginia Beach community, a police officer was killed and another individual was seriously injured during a traffic stop late Friday night. The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) confirmed the incident occurred around 10:50 PM. The victim has been identified as Officer E.J. Heller, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the line of duty. In addition to Heller, a 38-year-old man was also injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which is reported to have escalated from a routine traffic stop conducted by Officer Heller and his partner. Chief of Police Paul Neudigate expressed his condolences, stating, “This is a tragic day for our department and our community.
