Delhi Election Exit Polls Predict Major Win for BJP

As Delhi gears up for the imminent elections, recent exit polls indicate that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to secure a significant victory, marking a notable return to power after 27 years. According to four different exit polls, the BJP is projected to win at least 51 seats in the 70-seat Delhi Assembly, which represents a remarkable resurgence in the political landscape of the capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership appears to be influencing voter sentiment, contributing to the BJP’s favorable outlook. In contrast, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal, is expected to face challenges, with predictions suggesting they might secure only around 16 seats, down from their previous tally. Kejriwal responded to the exit polls by criticizing them as ‘fake surveys’, stating, ‘If BJP is getting more than 55 seats, Congress should not exist anymore.’ The Congress party, which has seen its influence wane over the decades, is similarly anticipated to struggle in the upcoming elections. According to political analysts, the potential splits in the opposition vote between Congress and AAP may inadvertently benefit the BJP. With the elections just around the corner, the focus remains on how these predictions will play out and whether the BJP will indeed capture the hearts of Delhi’s voters once again.
