New Britain Printing Company Invests in Solar Photovoltaic System to Slash Costs

A 120-year-old printing company in New Britain, Connecticut, is set to benefit significantly from a newly installed solar photovoltaic system. This investment is projected to save the company $1.2 million over the next 20 years as they move towards more sustainable energy practices. According to the general manager, William G. Polakoff, ‘This installation demonstrates our commitment to sustainable operations and the environment.’ The project involves the installation of a 200 kW rooftop solar array, executed by Smart Roofs Solar, and will produce clean energy directly for the company’s operations. This innovative initiative aligns with the state of Connecticut’s broader goals to increase renewable energy usage and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By utilizing solar energy, the printing company not only aims for financial savings but also strives to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. This move positions the company as a forward-thinking business in the competitive printing industry as they embrace modern technology to ensure financial viability and environmental responsibility.
