Air Canada Flight Skids Off Runway and Catches Fire at Halifax Airport

A significant incident unfolded at Halifax Stanfield International Airport on December 29, 2024, when an Air Canada flight encountered a severe rough landing that led to the aircraft skidding off the runway and catching fire. The flight, which originated from Toronto, was set to land at approximately 3:30 PM. Eyewitness accounts reported a chaotic scene as smoke billowed from the aircraft following the landing mishap. Rescue teams rushed to the scene, and fortunately, all 111 passengers and crew aboard were evacuated safely.
