Texas Governor Greg Abbott has launched a new billboard campaign aimed at discouraging migrants from making the perilous journey to Texas. The campaign features bilingual messages in Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, and English, targeting individuals from Central America, Mexico, and specifically countries like El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. The billboards spotlight the hazards associated with traveling to the United States illegally, conveying messages such as ‘Wrong Path – Danger Ahead’. Governor Abbott stated, “We have to put the message out: Texas is not the answer, and it is not a safe journey.” This initiative comes amid ongoing border control challenges and highlights Abbott’s commitment to addressing illegal immigration. The campaign will be visible across the U.S.-Mexico border in cities such as Juarez and Matamoros. Abbott emphasized the campaign’s importance by stating, “We are putting out an unequivocal message that you may not want to go to Texas, as you do not want to be part of what could be your death and destruction.” The billboards are part of a more extensive effort to manage immigration and improve safety along the Texas border, reinforcing Abbott’s tough stance on illegal immigration.
